According to legend, HERNE was once a mortal man who was skilled in hunting.

 In some legends, HERNE is portrayed as a figure with antlers growing out of his head, giving him a half-human, half-deer appearance. This further solidifies his connection to nature and the animals that inhabit it. He is also often depicted riding on a majestic stag or leading a pack of spectral hounds with glowing red eyes.

Despite his fearsome reputation, HERNE is also known as a protector of the forests and its creatures.

He is said to have a special connection with animals and can communicate with them through his haunting howls and calls. Many hunters would pray to him for good luck and a successful hunt, while others would avoid venturing into the woods during the time of the Wild Hunt.
