Lughnasadh is an ancient Celtic festival
Celebrating the first harvest of the year. It marks the transition from summer to autumn and is traditionally celebrated on August 1st. This Sabbat is also known as Lammas, which comes from the Old English phrase "hlaf-mas" meaning "loaf mass". This refers to the tradition of baking bread with grains harvested during Lughnasadh.
The Lughnasadh Sabbat holds great significance in many Wiccan and Pagan traditions. It is a time to celebrate the abundance and bounty of nature, as well as give thanks for all that has been recieved.
