Calling the Quarters, or quarter calling is a ritual performed during the casting of the Magick Circle.  It is an evocation of the elemental energies of Air, Fire, Water, and Earth tied to the four cardinal directions of East, South, West, and North. The essence of the ritual is to bring the energies into the magick circle to witness, guard, and protect the circle and all who are within it.

"East, South, West, North, come now I call Ye forth!"
