- Downloadable PDF, 300 DPI, sized 8.5" x 11" for a Book of Shadows or Grimoire
Who Is Goddess Ostara?
Ostara is the Germanic goddess of spring, dawn, and fertility — the presence beneath the Spring Equinox itself. Her older names, Eostre and Eastre, root deep in the same soil that gave us the word "Easter," and her symbols — the egg, the hare, the returning light — still walk through modern Easter traditions as eggs and the Easter bunny. To work with Ostara is to work with the turn from dark to light, the moment the lunar cycles tip toward growth, and the quiet, insistent pull of something new beginning.
How Do You Use the Ostara Altar and Ritual Pages?
Each page is built to be lived with, not just read. Draw your Ostara altar together using the correspondences included, then move through the rituals and offerings as the Equinox approaches — one page held open beside the candle, one intention taking root at a time. This is Goddess Ostara transformation work: not a single grand gesture, but a season tended day by day.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need prior experience with Ostara rituals to use this spellbook?
A: No prior experience is needed. The rituals, offerings, and correspondences are written to guide you step by step, whether this is your first Book of Shadows page or your fifteenth.
Q: What's the difference between the white background and parchment background pages?
A: The white background pages print crisp and clean for everyday practice, while the parchment pages carry an aged, atmospheric look — ideal for a Grimoire meant to feel touched by time. Both cover the same 15 pages, so you can choose the aesthetic that fits your altar.
Q: Why are eggs and rabbits connected to Goddess Ostara?
A: Eggs and hares have long stood as symbols of fertility and rebirth, echoing Ostara's role as goddess of spring's return. Their presence in modern Easter eggs and Easter bunny imagery traces back to this older, earthier reverence for new life emerging after winter.
