DARK MOON
What is a Dark Moon?
Have you ever gazed up at the night sky and wondered about the difference between a New Moon and a Dark Moon? While these terms are often used interchangeably, they actually have different meanings in spiritual and astrological contexts. A New Moon occurs when the moon is positioned between the sun and earth, appearing as a thin crescent in the sky. This phase marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle and is often associated with fresh starts and new intentions. On the other hand, a Dark Moon (also known as the "Black Moon") occurs when the moon is completely invisible in the sky due to its alignment with the sun. This phase represents a time of introspection and inner work, as it's believed to hold a strong transformative energy. Whether you're a seasoned witch or just starting out on your spiritual journey, understanding the difference between these two lunar phases can deepen your connection to moon energy and enhance your spiritual practice.
During the Dark Moon, the moon is completely hidden from view, leaving the sky blanketed in darkness. But don't let this obscure phase fool you - it is a powerful time for spiritual work. Protective magick is particularly effective during this time, as it allows you to shield yourself and your loved ones from harm. Additionally, the Dark Moon presents an opportunity to release what no longer serves you. Whether it be negative energies, toxic relationships, or personal habits that are hindering your growth, this is the perfect time to let go and make space for something better. Embrace the transformative energy of the Dark Moon and banish that which no longer aligns with your highest good.
